and from where it's requested. a recent Texas Journalist investigation
shows. But, some offices, while supplying records, violated procedures
in Texas' Public Information Act.

Some are foggy on opening of records

I should give half of the credit for this second edition
of the Texas Journalist to the editor and publisher
of the Baytown Sun. Last October, Wanda "Fluffy"
Cash, who also is president of the Freedom of Information
Foundation of Texas, invited the UT School of Journalism
to join in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Texas
Open Records Act.

general extends government openness

When he ran for office last fall, one of the focal points
of his campaign was the importatnce of open government
and the Texas Public Information Act. Now that he is
in office, Abbott is working to keep his promise and
ensure that the act is followed.
